How to: At home manicure

I recently took a break from my acrylic nails because honestly, I really did miss doing at home manicures.  Painting my nails while watching a good show (Breaking Bad, anyone? I'm almost done with season 4) is definitely high on my fun list.  Here is what I use to get a great at home manicure that lasts!
I start out by cleaning my nails, and removing any old polish, with Sally Hansen nail polish remover wipes.  These are absolutely amazing not only because they work, but because they are portable! You can virtually give yourself a manicure anywhere now, never having to worry about the messy cotton balls and acetone combo!  I found mine at target, but you should be able to get them at any drug store!  One wipe takes off a full ten fingers worth of polish!

Next I prime my nails using Essie's base coat.  This base coat fills in any ridges or grooves I have in my nails from using acrylics, and creates a nice smooth canvas for my polish.

For this post, I went with one of my fall OPI nail color picks, DS Radiance.  This color is like liquid silver in a bottle, I swear!  I normally apply two coats and let them dry, finishing off with a top coat by OPI as well.  With these easy steps, you can achieve a great at home manicure in no time at all!
