DIY Chocolate Peppermint Marshmallow Straws and Spoons

Hey everyone!  As promised, I wanted to do a more in-depth post on my DIY chocolate peppermint marshmallow straws and white chocolate spoons that I recently used for my  hot chocolate bar (didn't see it?  Find it here).  Yes the holidays are over, but winter is definitely not!  So stay warm with a nice cup of hot chocolate and one of these easy DIY treats!

What you will need for the Marshmallow Straws:
  • marshmallows
  • paper straws
  • dark chocolate chips
  • butterscotch chips
  • crushed peppermint

To get started push a straw through each of the marshmallows, as shown below!

Next, melt your chocolate and butterscotch chips in the microwave until melted, stirring every 15 seconds.

Coat each marshmallow in the melted chocolate or butterscotch and roll it, while still warm, in the crushed peppermint.

Let them cool on a piece of foil for about 30 minutes!

Now they are ready to serve!  How cute are these to stir into your hot chocolate?!

Now for the white chocolate peppermint spoons to stir into your hot chocolate...

You will need:

  • spoons (metal or plastic)
  • chocolate chips of your choice
  • crushed peppermint
Begin by melting your chocolate chips in the microwave in 15 second intervals until melted.

Next, dip each spoon into the melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed peppermint.  Let them cool on a piece of foil for about 30 minutes or so!

Once the chocolate has cooled, serve them up!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Stay warm!

xoxo
